Every villa is built around a granite rockpool fed by the mineral spring, in a courtyard closed on every side and open to the sky. Nothing shared, nothing to pass through.

Inside
Made of very little
Timber, granite and glass. The floor is warm from the door, the glass gives you the bush and nobody a view in, and the only sound most nights is the water.
Underfoot
Timber laid over the spring line, warm from the doorway to the courtyard.
Within
Victorian ash, oiled and left pale. No paint anywhere, and the smell of the timber for the first day or so.
Without
Yakisugi 焼杉, ash charred after the Japanese manner. It darkens with every season and never needs a coat.
The rockpool
Granite, cut and set; the same rock the water spent millennia moving through.
The glass
One way mirror laminate. The bush by day, the stars at night, and nothing at all from outside.
The quiet
No shared wall. Most guests notice it before anything else.

A single open room turned to the courtyard, glazed on that side in one way mirror laminate, so that the rockpool remains yours alone and the glass returns the trees to the bush.
Three bedrooms gathered about a central room, a larger rockpool, and a full kitchen for the nights you would sooner cook. The lake lies on one side and the alpine ranges rise on the other.
